I wore my blue 1921 cardigan to work today. It was comfortable and fun to wear.

The cardigan (or tuxedo sweater as I'll call it if I ever do the blog post I want to do) is done! Last night had a little moment of worry because the back collar didn't cover the back neck seam--the collar is sewn wrong sides together so the seam is on the right side when it's folded over, but that was easily solved by smoothing it out and tacking ( Read more... )

The collar and belt are done, the collar is pinned, and it just needs sewing and weaving in ends.

I'd have sewn it today, but I started the belt at lunch at work and didn't think to save some yarn for sewing. I didn't want to weave ends in the belt because it's only ten stitches. I know it'd be fine, but I just didn't like the idea. By the time I ( Read more... )

For some reason during my morning meeting, I decided to make the buttons for the belt of the sweater. They're crochet, which I Don't do. The hook I had was a little big so the button shows through a teeny bit, but not enough to bother me.

And the collar is almost done.

The sweater fits better now. Yay! It was fine, but I'm glad it's better.

And I cut out the 20s corset today! Maybe the busk tomorrow?

Of course, the spray bottle stopped working halfway through ironing the coutil. Thankfully I had ironed it enough. I washed it because it was too stiff with the sizing and it was really wrinkled. The the first piece ( Read more... )

I sewed the sweater yesterday, and it fit! It *just* fits. Whew. It's like the two day sweater and green 30s sweater that way. Both of which I'm happy with.

I tried it on with just the sleeves sewn and something was off. It was obvious the hips were going to be a little small--I knew I should've added more to the hips on the front to match the ( Read more... )

The body of the sweater is done! I dampened it and it's drying flat. I wanted to try drying it on a wet cloth, but didn't really have a good place to do it. Or a good cloth to wet. At least at 10 at night when I just wanted it done!

I'll start the collar tomorrow!
